Tell us about the Geocaching camping trip you took with your family.

When my family decided to plan a trip specifically for geocaching, PanTerra was a real timesaver. It was able to tell me how far each cache was from our campground and helped me break the group of caches into smaller "mini-groups" for each time out. We had a total of three "mini-trips" out to find geocaches and at the end of the weekend had 7 attempts and 5 finds to our credit. We cut our Sunday morning trip short due to lack of energy and impending rain, but we were able to break camp and start home without getting wet!

How did you use PanTerra to plan and edit your trip?

PanTerra makes it very simple to download and upload waypoints to my GPS, as well as sort all of my waypoints. Since I can save them on my computer, I only have to "take along" the waypoints I need for any given outing, not my entire collection. I also use the geocaching and map links to supplement my trips with maps and directions. Even when I've never been to an area before, I can become familiar with it and maximize the time spent enjoying my trip, not wandering around trying to find the destination. For the camping trip, I planned all of my geocache stops (including parking areas), accessed directions to the campground I wanted to stay at, broke my geocaches into two seperate groups based on the geographical relation to the campground, and compiled directions for both trips.
