What kinds of GPS guides do you have on your website?
We provide GPS maps and guides for all types of outdoor activities and sightseeing tours. Travel by GPS is the place to find GPS maps and guides for hiking, paddling, snowmobiling, skiing, on- and off road sightseeing.
How did you create the Squaw Valley GPS Trail Guide?
I used PanTerra to author this map of the ski lift network and guest facilities for the popular California ski resort. I collected most of the GPS data while visiting the resort, but there were some waypoints that I wanted to include but couldn't because of the conditions - like the Granite Chief summit which is a good geographic reference point for anyone skiing on the west side of the resort. To complete the trail map I simply imported the missing waypoints from the TopoGrafix waypoint database. Being able to open multiple files and drag and drop the data made it easy.
How was the skiing?
You can never be certain about Sierra snow in late March, but this year we were able to avoid skiing over too many rocks.
